When British sustainable fashion label Uzma Bozai came to us, their existing WooCommerce website was more of a burden than a business tool. The brand, known for it's iconic and bold custom sweatshirts — blending Eastern traditional artisan Karigar craftsmanship with Western silhouettes was evolving — but their digital home wasn’t keeping up.
Hosting fees were rising. Site updates took too long. And plans for brand growth, including a refreshed look and a customer loyalty scheme, were constantly delayed. Stuck with a platform and agency that no longer served them, the team needed a change. Here's how Build a Brand helped Uzma Bozai switch to Shopify and reclaim control over their digital growth.

The Challenges
Uzma Bozai had long outgrown the Wordpress/WooCommerce setup powering their site. The problems went deeper than aesthetics though, the platform was limiting the brand’s ability to evolve, experiment, and grow.
Expensive Hosting & Maintenance
Keeping the WooCommerce site live and functional was eating into their profit margins. Hosting fees, plugin licenses, and developer costs for regular maintenance were stacking up fast.
A Dependence on Developers
Even small changes like updating a banner or changing homepage copy meant going through their agency. This created bottlenecks and delays, especially when it came to launching time-sensitive campaigns or promotions.
Stuck with Stale Branding
The site no longer reflected Uzma Bozai’s current identity or vision. The team wanted to refresh their messaging and visual storytelling and felt that the platform was no longer suitable for them so they started exploring other options and discovered Shopify.
The Solution
We partnered with Uzma Bozai to migrate their entire ecommerce operation from WooCommerce to Shopify, setting them up with a scalable, easy-to-manage platform that would finally put them in control.
Full WooCommerce-to-Shopify Migration
We helped them export and safely transfer over all the important information that they needed such as customer data, existing product data and order history.
Refreshed Branding and Messaging
With the new Shopify ecommerce platform came a refreshed front end. We restructured the site to better tell Uzma’s story, highlight her collections, and create a more editorial shopping experience that reflected the brand's luxury, ethical positioning.
Empowering the In-House Team
Shopify’s intuitive interface gave the Uzma Bozai team the autonomy they’d been missing. They can now update website pages, launch new products with promotional site messaging, and make design changes without waiting on a developer.
Launching Our Tribe Loyalty Scheme
One of the biggest wins was enabling the launch of Our Tribe — a customer loyalty program designed to reward brand advocates and encourage repeat purchases. What was once a dream for Uzma was now live within weeks of launch with the possibilities of this to be developed further with her vision.
The Results: A Brand Reclaimed

The move to Shopify gave Uzma Bozai more than just a new website — it gave them back their freedom to grow and adapt on their own terms.
Lower ongoing costs by eliminating custom hosting and plugin maintenance.
Faster turnaround times for campaigns, launches, and updates.
Better alignment between site experience and brand identity.
Successful launch of the Our Tribe loyalty program.
More confidence and control for the in-house team.
What’s Next for Uzma Bozai?
With a stable, future proof platform in place and a clear content strategy, Uzma Bozai is now focused on scaling sustainably. Build a Brand are supporting them with ongoing website support and optimisations as they continue to build their loyal community and grow globally.
