you’re missing out on one of the best (and free!) tools for understanding your online presence.
At Build a Brand, we like to think of Google Search Console (GSC) as the backstage pass to your website’s star performance on Google. It’s where all the valuable data lives, the kind that tells you what people are really typing into that search bar before landing on your site and is one of my most favourite tools to use!
So, What Is Google Search Console?
Google Search Console is where you go to hear straight from the horses mouth.
(For those of you who don't understand this idiom it means obtaining information directly from a reliable source who has firsthand knowledge of it)
GSC gives you valuable insights like:
What search terms (aka queries) people use to find you
Which pages get the most clicks
How high (or low) you rank in search results
Mobile usability issues
Any scary-sounding errors Google finds on your site (don’t panic! we help with these too)
Why It’s So Useful (And Kinda Fun Too)
I get it, “data” is not the most exciting content to be looking at and can get boring at times (unless you are a geeky babbler like me!). But when you start seeing that one blog post pulling in traffic for a totally unexpected keyword, or discover that most of your clicks come from people searching “ethical gifts under £20” suddenly things get interesting.
