Why Your Business Isn’t Growing on Social Media

You’re posting regularly, sharing photos, writing captions and trying to keep up with the latest trends.
So why does it feel like nobody is actually seeing your content?
The good news is that you probably don't need to post more. You might just need to post with a little more purpose.
Posting isn't the same as having a strategy
One of the biggest mistakes businesses make is posting whatever comes to mind that day.
Monday: a product photo.
Wednesday: a random quote.
Friday: "Happy Friday!"
There’s nothing wrong with these posts, but if that's your entire strategy, it can be difficult to build an audience.
Instead, think about what you want your social media to actually achieve.
Do you want to:
Get more enquiries?
Build awareness of your brand?
Show people what you offer?
Become known as an expert?
Drive people to your website?
Build trust with potential customers?
Once you know the goal, your content becomes much easier to plan.
Give people a reason to follow you
Your social media shouldn't just tell people what you sell.
It should give them something useful, interesting or entertaining.
Answer questions your customers regularly ask, share tips, show behind the scenes, explain your services, share customer stories, talk about common problems and how you solve them.
…And yes, occasionally tell people to buy from you too!
Stop chasing every trend
Not every trending audio, meme or social media feature is right for your business.
A trend is only useful if it helps you communicate something your audience actually cares about.
Your audience doesn't need you to be everywhere.
They need you to be relevant.
Look beyond the likes
Likes are nice, but they're not the only measure of success.
A post with 20 likes that generates three enquiries could be far more valuable than one with 200 likes and no action.
Look at your reach, website clicks, saves, shares, comments, enquiries and sales too.
The goal isn't to become an influencer. It's to build a social media presence that helps your business grow.
So before you create your next post, ask yourself, “What is this post actually trying to achieve?"
If you can't answer that, it might be time to rethink the post!
